Financial inclusion initiatives expand in Dominican Republic and Paraguay

Financial inclusion initiatives are gaining momentum in the Dominican Republic and Paraguay through educational platforms and national strategic planning.

In the Dominican Republic, Banco Popular Dominicano reported that its Academia Finanzas con Propósito has surpassed 24,206 cumulative users since its 2021 launch. The platform saw a 13.46% increase in new users during the first part of 2026 compared to the previous year. The academy offers 18 courses covering topics such as savings, financial planning, credit, and investment, with 891 participants recently obtaining certifications.

In Paraguay, the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (ENIF) 2026–2031 was officially launched at the Central Bank of Paraguay. The roadmap includes 39 actions aimed at expanding access to formal financial services, promoting digitalization, and strengthening regulatory frameworks. The strategy specifically targets vulnerable populations, independent workers, and MSMEs. Equifax Paraguay participated in the launch, pledging to provide technology and data analytics to support a more transparent and inclusive credit ecosystem.
