Financial institutions adjust Q4 2026 strategies amid inflation and rate shifts

Financial institutions are adjusting strategies for the fourth quarter of 2026 amid inflation pressures and shifting interest rate expectations. CIMB Thai Bank suggests that while cost-push inflation from rising oil prices and high US Treasury yields present challenges, corporate earnings remain strong due to AI integration and increased investment.

CIMB Thai Bank recommends an overweight position on US and non-Japanese Asian equities. Analysts are monitoring the Federal Reserve, projecting two potential rate hikes this year to reach a range of 4.00-4.25%. Additionally, the upcoming US midterm elections are expected to potentially result in a divided government, which may reduce policy uncertainty.

In a separate move, SCB Wealth and SCB Asset Management, in collaboration with BlackRock, are launching the SCBGMHEAVY fund. This multi-asset fund aims to provide global diversification and volatility control for high-risk investors. The IPO is scheduled for October 6 to October 12, 2026, with a minimum investment of 1,000 Baht.
