Financial institutions adopt AI for operational and customer service transformation
Financial institutions are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence to transform operations and customer accessibility. Wells Fargo is implementing a strategic roadmap to integrate AI across its workflows. Faraz Shafiq, head of AI products and solutions, outlined a hub-and-spoke model where a central team manages governance, security, and controls, while specialized teams apply domain expertise to specific applications. The bank aims to move beyond single use cases to fundamentally transform its operational model by 2027.
In India, Josh Software has expanded its services to accelerate the adoption of AI-powered voice banking. The new offering focuses on conversational banking that supports regional languages, aiming to increase financial inclusion in Tier II, Tier III, and rural markets. The service allows banks to integrate these technologies into existing digital channels while retaining ownership of the source code and intellectual property, ensuring data remains within the institution’s ecosystem.
