Financial institutions in Mexico and Colombia are offering specialized credit lines for workers and homeowners.

In Mexico, the Instituto del Fondo Nacional para el Consumo de los Trabajadores (Fonacot) provides loans that can reach up to four months of a worker's salary. To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old, work at an affiliated center for at least six months, and earn at least the minimum wage. Requirements include providing a mobile number for validation, two personal references, and an email address.

In Colombia, the Fondo Nacional del Ahorro (FNA) offers the ‘Hogar Verde’ credit line, designed to help households install solar panels for energy self-sufficiency. This line can finance up to 70% of the property's commercial appraisal, with terms ranging from 5 to 20 years. Applicants can apply through the FNA website, virtually, or at physical service points.
