Financial Regulatory Authority mandates digital email registration for supervised entities

The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has issued a decision mandating that all companies and entities under its supervision register for the ‘Breidi’ registered email service. This move aims to digitize the system of official notifications and correspondence between the authority and legal entities.

The decision, issued by FRA Chairman Dr. Islam Azzam, follows a cooperation protocol between the FRA and the National Post Authority. The mandate requires entities to activate accounts to receive outgoing correspondence from the FRA, which will serve as an officially recognized digital address. Electronic evidence of sending, receiving, or failed delivery through this system will be considered legally valid.

This requirement applies specifically to legal entities and does not extend to natural persons. While receiving correspondence via the free ‘Breidi’ service is mandatory, using the service to send correspondence to the FRA remains optional and subject to the National Post Authority’s established rules and fees. The initiative is part of a broader effort to transition from paper-based communication to secure, documented digital channels to enhance regulatory efficiency.
