Financial regulatory rulings issued in Mexico and Chile

In Mexico, a judicial resolution has strengthened the authority of the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (Condusef). The ruling determines that Condusef's findings regarding unrecognized transfers and fraud can serve as an executive title. This allows customers to more easily pursue legal action against banks and fintech companies to recover funds from unauthorized operations.

In Chile, the Tribunal for the Defense of Free Competition (TDLC) has rejected proposals from Conadecus to limit the concentration of large economic groups. The tribunal declined to implement structural changes, such as limiting corporate layers or restricting the link between financial institutions and real economy companies. The TDLC concluded that current evidence did not prove net adverse effects on competition that would justify dismantling pyramidal corporate structures.
