Financial Street Forum 2026 opens in Beijing

The 2026 Annual Conference of the Financial Street Forum opened in Beijing on Monday, gathering over 400 distinguished guests from around the world. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Building an Open Collaborative and Inclusive Ecosystem for Global Financial Development.’

Zeng Linfeng, acting district mayor of Beijing’s Xicheng District and executive director of the forum’s organizing committee, stated that the theme addresses the accelerating century-scale changes and challenges facing the global economy and financial activities. He emphasized the urgent need to build consensus through openness, overcome difficulties through cooperation, and find common ground through inclusivity.

The four-day event includes a main forum and several parallel forums, alongside specialized meetings focused on fintech, insurance, and investment. Key sessions are hosted by major institutions, including the People's Bank of China, the National Financial Regulatory Administration, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Leaders from global financial institutions, such as Standard Chartered and DWS Group, are scheduled to participate in discussions regarding cross-border financial development and long-term investment opportunities within China’s capital markets.
