Financial technology leaders discuss AI and payments in Bogotá
The inaugural AI in Finance (AIFI26) event held in Bogotá brought together executives from major banks, fintech companies, and technology firms to discuss the future of the financial sector. Key topics included the evolution of autonomous AI agents, which can analyze information and execute tasks independently, and the impact of instant payment systems like Colombia’s Bre-B initiative.
Participants from organizations including Rappi, Itaú, BBVA, Davivienda, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services explored how these technologies might reshape banking models by 2030. The discussions focused on moving beyond pilot programs to full-scale implementation of artificial intelligence and interoperable payment platforms.
In a related development, CLAI PAYMENTS Technologies has joined Colombia Fintech. The company, which operates in over 13 Latin American countries, aims to contribute its payment infrastructure expertise to the local ecosystem. CLAI PAYMENTS provides various technological solutions, including AZ7 for transactional management, EVERYCARD for card lifecycle administration, and AXIA for fraud prevention using artificial intelligence.
