Financing initiatives expand credit access for entrepreneurs in Peru and Argentina
Various financial initiatives are providing credit access to entrepreneurs and individuals with challenging credit histories in Peru and Argentina.
In Peru, the fintech company Prestamype offers loans ranging from S/15,000 to S/2 million for individuals who may face restrictions from traditional banking due to negative credit ratings in Infocorp. Operated by P2P Finance Consulting SAC and backed by BID Lab and Salkantay VC, the company has disbursed over S/2,100 million since 2017 to support micro and small businesses.
In Argentina, the Córdoba Emprendedora program, through the General Secretariat of Habitat and Entrepreneurial Development and the Banco de Córdoba Foundation, provides interest-free credit lines to local businesses. These include loans of up to $4,000,000 for supplies and tools, and up to $6,000,000 for capital goods. The program reports a delinquency rate of less than 1% and supports diverse sectors including gastronomy, engineering, and software.
