FINAS to open RM15 million creative content fund applications
The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) will open applications for the Creative Content Fund (DKK) starting November 16. The fund, totaling RM15 million, covers six distinct categories designed to support various sectors of the film and broadcasting industry.
Categories include International Co-Productions for feature films or animation, the First Time Amateur Filmmaker (FAME) fund, and Co-Productions for TV Super Telefilms. Additionally, funding is available for Micro-Drama Co-Productions for broadcasters or OTT platforms, the Veteran Artist (STAR) Super Telefilm fund, and National Public Service Announcement (PSA) production.
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil stated that the initiative aims to nurture new talent, expand international collaborations, and support veteran artists. The fund also seeks to encourage the production of new content, such as micro-dramas, to meet digital market demands. Eligible industry players can apply online via the Creative Industry Management and Monitoring System (SPPIK).
