Explora Journeys and Fincantieri celebrate dual maritime milestones

Explora Journeys, the luxury ocean travel brand of the MSC Group, and Fincantieri have marked two significant milestones at the Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Italy. The ceremonies included the launching of the Explora V and the traditional coin ceremony for the Explora VI.

This progress is part of a larger project to complete a six-ship fleet by 2028. Following the delivery of Explora III in July 2026, the Explora IV and Explora V are scheduled for delivery in 2027, with the Explora VI expected to enter service in the summer of 2028.

The construction program represents a total investment of over €3.5 billion by MSC. Fincantieri estimates this project generates an economic impact of more than €15 billion on the Italian economy, supporting thousands of jobs and requiring millions of working hours per vessel.
