Fincantieri is set to invest approximately 194.8 million euros in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region to strengthen its shipbuilding capabilities, specifically focusing on large cruise ships. The investment plan targets the Monfalcone shipyard for infrastructural upgrades and will also fund research and development projects in Monfalcone and Trieste to create prototype systems.

The industrial plan, spanning 2024 to 2028, includes the recruitment of at least 157 new employees. The development agreement has been approved by the regional government and involves the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, and Invitalia.

Public funding for the initiative totals over 24 million euros. This includes 22.6 million euros from the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and approximately 2.18 million euros from the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
