Finecut secures Asian distribution deals for K-pop idol films

South Korean sales company Finecut has secured several new territorial distribution deals across Asia for theatrical titles featuring K-pop idols.

“After-School Exorcism Club: Girls’ Night,” starring members of the group Fifty Fifty, has landed agreements in Indonesia with Catchplay+, Singapore with Shaw Organisation, and Taiwan with Cola Films. The film follows five high school students investigating a campus spirit.

“Wi-Fi Love in the Palace,” based on a Kakao Page webtoon and featuring members of The Boyz, has been acquired by Japan’s KDDI Corporation, as well as distributors in Indonesia and Taiwan. The story involves a webtoon artist and a palace maid connected through a mysterious cabinet.

Additionally, “Wind Up: The Movie,” starring NCT members Jeno and Jaemin, has expanded its market reach with new sales to Hong Kong and Macao through Emperor Cinemas. This adds to existing distribution agreements in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, and the CIS region.
