Finep extends deadline for R$ 203.8 million sustainable mobility grants
The Brazilian Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (Finep) has extended the deadline until Friday, the 25th, for companies to submit innovation proposals for its ‘Finep Mais Inovação Brasil – Rodada 2 – Mobilidade Sustentável’ public call.
To participate, Brazilian companies must form technical-scientific partnerships with at least one Scientific, Technological, and Innovation Institution (ICT). The initiative offers R$ 203.8 million in non-reimbursable economic grants for high-risk, highly innovative projects. To promote decentralization, 30% of the total funds are reserved for projects based in the North, Northeast, or Center-West regions.
The funding is divided into four thematic lines:
1. Air Mobility: R$ 132.8 million for lightweight aircraft, decarbonization, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), and autonomous flight systems. 2. Water Mobility: R$ 37.7 million for electric and hybrid propulsion technologies for cargo and passenger transport. 3. Rail/Metro Mobility: Focused on digitalization and clean traction. 4. Micromobility: Focused on low-carbon urban transport such as bicycles and cargo tricycles.
