FINIFA 2026: Judging panels announced for Amazigh film festival
The 17th edition of the Ifrane International Amazigh Film Festival (FINIFA) has announced its judging panels for the upcoming event in Agadir, scheduled for October 1 to 5, 2026. Organized in partnership with the Souss-Massa region, the Agadir Municipal Council, and the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (IRCAM), the festival aims to support Amazigh cinema and promote the language and culture.
The festival features several competitive categories. The Amazigh Competition jury includes Aisha Bara, composer Hassan Boumelik, and director Axel. The International Competition jury consists of Jean-Pierre Berkmans, Isabelle Benkemoun, and Samir Ben Yaali.
Additionally, the National Prize for Amazigh Culture – Amazigh Film category, appointed by IRCAM, will evaluate six competing films: ‘Gandafa’ by Ali Benjelloun, ‘Al-Hila’ by Saad Eddine Bahi, ‘Village Student’ by Yassine Ait Faquir, ‘Tawnza’ by Rachid El Mokadem, ‘Fading Candle’ by Ismail Ait Lahcen, and ‘Two Paths’ by Yassine Ignfer. This prize commemorates the historic royal speech delivered by King Mohammed VI in Ajdir on October 17, 2001.
