Finland electricity prices expected to rise this winter

Motiva, a state-owned company focused on energy efficiency, recommends optimizing home technology to prevent financial strain. Key advice includes ensuring heat pumps are properly maintained and correctly configured so that expensive direct electric heating is not triggered prematurely. Experts suggest that for ground-source heat pumps, direct electric heating should ideally account for only 1–5 percent of annual energy needs.

Homeowners are also encouraged to clean air source heat pump filters, maintain outdoor units, and schedule heating usage during cheaper electricity periods through manual monitoring or automated optimization services.
