Finland's men's volleyball team began its European Championship training camp on 3 August at the Kuortane Sports Institute, assembling a 16‑player squad that includes recent European League winners and newcomer setter Joonas Jokela. Head coach Olli Kunnari said the final roster for the EM tournament, to be played in September in Tampere (Finland), Italy, Romania and Bulgaria, will be trimmed to 14 athletes.

The Finnish Athletics Federation also announced its European Championships delegation for Birmingham, adding 35 athletes to the team.
