Finland floorball team wins key matches in Kokkola tournament

The Finnish men's national floorball team secured key victories during the Three-Nation Tournament in Kokkola, serving as preparation for the upcoming World Floorball Championships in Tampere this December.

In a standout performance, Finland overcame an early deficit to defeat Sweden 8–2. Despite Sweden scoring within the first 37 seconds and dominating the first period, Finland responded in the second period. Goals from Justus Kainulainen, Nico Salo, Juuso Ahola, Luukas Hyvärynen, and Riku Hakanen secured the win. Head coach Esa Jussila noted the importance of the mental boost following a previous loss to Sweden in the EFT tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, Finland opened with a 5–3 victory over Latvia. Although Latvia maintained strong ball control and caused early difficulties for the Finnish side, Finland utilized counter-attacks and third-period momentum to break a recent losing streak. Goals were contributed by Luukas Hyvärynen, Markus Markkola, and Aaro Astala.
