Finland hosts community hobby and activity events in Turku and Kuopio

Various hobby and activity events are being organized across Finland to promote accessible leisure opportunities.

In Turku, the #Harrastamaan event, organized by Valo-Valmennusyhdistys Ry in collaboration with Turun Ohjaamo and Turun nuorisotyö, will take place at Hjeltin talo on September 9. The event focuses on providing information about free or low-cost hobby opportunities specifically for individuals aged 18 to 29, featuring options from both the public and third sectors.

In Kuopio, two large-scale open events are scheduled for September. The first, a hobby day at Luola on September 12, will feature 30 clubs and associations presenting various participation options. Participants can use a hobby passport to collect stamps from different activity stations for a chance to win prizes. The second event, titled ‘Harrastaminen kuuluu kaikille’, will be held at Kuopio-halli on September 17, offering activities ranging from team sports and dance to music and culture, with a focus on accessibility for children, youth, and adults.
