Finland housing prices decline in Espoo, Helsinki, and Vantaa

Data from the National Land Survey of Finland shows a shift toward a buyer's market in the capital region, with median prices for detached houses declining in Espoo, Helsinki, and Vantaa.

In Espoo, median prices fell by 46,750 euros (-7.5%), while Helsinki saw a decrease of 31,750 euros (-6.4%). Vantaa reported a 5.8% drop, with a median price of 350,000 euros. Conversely, prices rose in Sipoo and Kirkkommi. Pirkkala, the only municipality outside the Uusimaa region in the top five most expensive areas, saw median prices increase by nearly 50,000 euros.

Nationwide, the total number of residential and holiday home transactions remained stable compared to the previous year, totaling 23,200 sales between January and July. Residential sales rose slightly by 0.6%, while holiday home transactions increased by 0.3%. Saara Saari, head of register services at the National Land Survey, noted that while transaction volumes are increasing compared to challenging previous years, they have not yet reached the peak levels seen during 2020–2022.
