Finland launches food campaigns to promote local eating and social connection
Finland is launching several initiatives to promote local food and social connection through eating. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has introduced the ‘Syödään yhdessä syyskuu’ (Eating Together September) campaign. Starting September 4 on Finnish Food Day, the campaign encourages citizens to share meals with others to foster social bonds. Alongside this, the government will release an implementation plan for a national food strategy aimed at making Finland a ‘happy food nation.’
Complementing these efforts, the ‘SYÖ!-weeks’ restaurant campaign will run from August 28 to September 10. Over 70 restaurants, primarily in the capital region, will offer discounted meals, including 12-euro portions and 15-euro premium options. The restaurant campaign aims to provide affordable dining experiences and introduce new culinary options, such as Central Asian flavors from Qazan Restaurant, to the public.
