Finland defeats Belgium 3–2 in European Volleyball Championship
The Finnish men's national volleyball team defeated Belgium 3–2 in a European Championship group stage match held at the Tampere Arena. The victory was witnessed by a record-breaking crowd of 12,338 spectators.
Finland secured the win through strong performances by Joonas Jokela, who scored 24 points, and Luka Marttila, who contributed 23 points. After losing the first set 23–25, Finland rallied to win the second and third sets. Although Belgium took the fourth set 25–23, Finland dominated the deciding fifth set with a 15–10 score.
Head coach Olli Kunnari noted that the team maintained composure during the final set. The win provides Finland with a significant advantage in their pursuit of a favorable position for the knockout stages in Italy.
