Finland national ice hockey teams begin international tournament preparations

Finland's national ice hockey teams are entering intensive preparation phases for upcoming international competitions.

The men's under-20 team, known as Nuoret Leijonat, has finalized a 22-player roster for a five-nation tournament held at the Ilmatar Arena in Espoo from August 26 to 30. The squad will face Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Simultaneously, the senior men's national team, Susijengi, is preparing for the World Cup qualification window in August. The roster includes prominent players such as Sasu Salin and Lauri Markkanen. The team will hold a training camp in Espoo, culminating in a rehearsal match against Iceland on August 21. The qualification phase continues with matches against Sweden in Helsinki on August 27 and Estonia in Tallinn on August 30, as the team aims for the 2027 World Cup in Qatar.
