Finland reveals first details for UMK 2027 Eurovision selection

Finland's national broadcaster, Yle, has announced the initial details for the 2027 Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), the selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest. Out of 481 song submissions, a professional committee and five public juries have selected seven finalists.

The winner will be crowned on February 20, 2027, at the Nokia Arena in Tampere. While the names of the artists remain secret until a live television broadcast on January 13, 2027, Yle Music editor Tapio Hakanen has provided hints regarding the musical variety. The finalists include a group with an international sound, a club-oriented duo, and a dramatic, cinematic track.

Following the artist reveal, the seven competing songs will be released individually between January 14 and January 22, 2027.
