Finland summer cabins sell over 1,500 units, €226 million in first half

During the first half of the year, 1,580 summer cabins were sold across Finland, generating roughly €226 million in revenue – a 5.3 % increase compared with the same period last year. The highest number of transactions occurred in Lapland, Nyland and South Savo, while Central Finland recorded the fewest sales.

The average price of a cabin was €144 000 and the median €100 000. Demand is rising, driven by more remote‑work arrangements and the growth of short‑term rentals such as Airbnb. Tuomas Viljamaa, chief executive of the Centralförbundet för Fastighetsförmedling, expects the market to keep expanding and anticipates a generational shift in cabin ownership over the next decade.
