The Finnish Tax Administration (Verohallinto) is processing tax refunds for over two million Finns today, amounting to a total of €1.1 billion. Recipients are advised that refunds may not appear in their accounts immediately and should check balances later in the day. Procedure manager Mari Kleemola warned that phishing messages are being sent during the refund period; the agency never includes links in its communications nor asks for bank details.

Other tax deadlines this week include the property‑tax payment for nearly two million people and a remainder‑tax liability of €260 million, with property tax due later amounting to €440 million. Refunds are also scheduled for September, October, November and December, with today’s payout being the largest of the year.
