Finland's Education Minister highlights teacher support reforms

On International Teachers' Day, Finnish Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz emphasized the importance of improving working conditions for educators. He stated that teachers should be able to focus on their core duties—teaching and supporting students—rather than being burdened by unnecessary administration.

To support this, the government has implemented reforms in pre-primary and basic education aimed at reducing administrative tasks and simplifying documentation. These reforms are backed by approximately 100 million euros in permanent annual funding.

Additional measures include stricter regulations regarding mobile phone use in schools to enhance classroom focus and an increase in the minimum number of teaching hours for grades 1–6, specifically targeting mathematics, mother tongue, and literature.
