Finland's Oura launches the smallest smart ring, Oura Ring 5

Finnish health‑tech company Oura announced the Oura Ring 5, marketed as the world’s smallest smart ring. The device is about 40 % smaller than its predecessor, measuring 6.09 mm in width and 2.28 mm in thickness, and weighing between 2 and 2.69 grams—significantly lighter than the Ring 4. Priced at $399, the Ring 5 is designed to look and feel like ordinary jewelry, eliminating the bulky appearance of earlier smart rings.

The new model improves nightly sleep monitoring by being less noticeable on the finger, and extends battery life to 6–9 days per charge compared with 5–8 days on the previous version. Oura cites competition from RingConn and Ultrahuman as drivers for the redesign, aiming to offer a more comfortable, aesthetically neutral health‑tracking experience.
