Finland’s Suomen Purjehdus ja Veneily launches free August “Yhdessä vesille” boating events

The Finnish Sailing and Boating Association (Suomen Purjehdus ja Veneily ry) is organising a series of free, open‑to‑all water‑sport events in August 2026. The programme includes:

• Kokkolan Purjehtijoiden “Yhdessä vesille” on 15 August, 11:00‑14:00, where participants can try sailing, hear club members’ experiences and meet the local rescue service. • Savonlinnan Pursiseuran open day on the island of Iso Kankainen, also on 15 August, 10:00‑15:00, featuring club introductions, a small refreshment stand and a grill for visitors. • Kotkan Pursiseuran boat event in Meriniemi and at the Sapola guest pier on 21‑22 August, offering club showcases, new and used boat displays, a trailer‑sale market for equipment and activities suitable for families.

All events are free, aim to introduce newcomers to sailing and boating, and provide practical advice on equipment, safety and how to join a club.
