Finn Balor has commented on the surprise return of Kevin Owens during WWE's SummerSlam event. Owens returned to the ring after being sidelined for approximately a year and a half due to a serious neck injury.

During the event in Minneapolis, a scheduled match between Sami Zayn and Finn Balor was transformed into a Fatal 4 Way match, which included Gunther and Owens. Owens ultimately secured the victory. Balor described Owens as one of his oldest friends in the industry and noted that the crowd's reaction to Owens' entrance was so intense it briefly shifted his perspective from performer to fan.
