Finnair to increase Tokyo flight frequency for summer 2027
Finnair has announced a significant expansion of its flight capacity to Japan for the summer 2027 season to meet rising travel demand. The airline plans to increase its total weekly services to Japan from 28 to up to 32 flights.
The capacity boost will focus on Tokyo, where the airline will offer up to three daily flights at peak times. This includes increasing frequencies on the Tokyo Narita route with up to two daily flights, while maintaining daily service to Tokyo Haneda. These schedules are designed to facilitate smoother onward connections across Finnair’s European network.
Chief Revenue Officer Christine Rovelli noted that Japan is the airline’s largest market after Finland. In addition to its Tokyo services, Finnair continues to operate year-round flights to Osaka and provides seasonal service to Nagoya, making it the only European carrier to serve that city.
