Finnentrop: 76-year-old seriously injured in pedelec accident

A 76-year-old man from Dinslaken sustained serious injuries following a pedelec accident in Finnentrop-Müllen on Saturday evening, September 12, 2026. The incident occurred around 6:58 p.m. while the man was riding with a group of electric bicycle enthusiasts on a paved path between Lenhausen and Fretter.

While navigating a steep section featuring a sharp S-curve, the rider lost control of his vehicle, skidded, and went over the edge of the path down an embankment. Fellow group members provided immediate first aid before emergency services arrived. A doctor and ambulance transported the man to a local hospital for treatment.

Police from Olpe attended the scene to document the accident. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle sustained only minor property damage.
