Finnish football player sales reach record 4.5 million euros

Finnish football clubs reached a new level of player sales this year, totaling approximately 4.585 million euros according to Transfermarkt data. This figure includes both domestic and international transfers.

A major highlight of the year was the 2.5 million euro transfer fee received by FC Inter for defender Ilari Kangasniemi, which marks the largest transfer fee in Finnish history. Juho Rantala, the Head of Elite Football at the Football Association of Finland, noted that such significant deals set a new standard for future transfers and provide clubs with more confidence in investing in youth-focused business models.

Despite this growth, a significant gap remains between Finland and top Nordic football markets such as Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
