Finnish javelin throwing faces competitive challenges

While Topi Parviainen is set to compete in the European Championship final, expectations for Finnish representation in such events have reached a historic low. Amidst these concerns, attention is turning to 17-year-old Jere Murto of Alavieskan Viri. Murto, who won the European U18 Championship and holds an unofficial age-group world record of 81.23 meters with a 700-gram javelin, is viewed as a significant talent, though experts caution against placing excessive pressure on his development at such a young age.
