Finnish libraries report high satisfaction and expand outdoor rental services

A recent customer survey in Lempäälä indicates high levels of satisfaction with local library services. All respondents identified the library as an important municipal service, with 95 percent describing it as extremely important. The results highlight the library's role as a space for social interaction, learning, and quiet study. While customer service received high marks, the survey noted potential for improvement in digital guidance and e-material communication.

In Korpilahti, the local library has introduced a new nature backpack rental service. Developed through the LähiLUMO project with support from the EU Rural Development Fund, these backpacks include binoculars, magnifying glasses, sitting mats, and educational cards designed to encourage multi-sensory experiences in nature. The initiative aims to promote local nature appreciation and awareness of ecosystem services.
