Finnish municipalities advance welfare and education plans

Municipal committees in Kirkkonummi and Espoo have advanced several local administrative and educational plans.

In Kirkkonummi, the Education and Welfare Committee reviewed the child and youth welfare plan for 2027–2029. This plan, which integrates into a broader welfare report, includes updated wellbeing data and evaluated goals. The committee also established pricing and rental terms for Lyyra hall and other cultural facilities, and presented budget proposals for 2027 and financial plans for 2028–2029.

In Espoo, the Growth and Learning Committee prepared budget proposals for 2027 and financial plans for 2028–2029. The committee issued a statement regarding the development plan for Kera school, daycare, and youth center, emphasizing the need for safe, separated traffic solutions and a completion date by August 2030. Additionally, Espoo approved an agreement with the City of Helsinki to provide basic education for hearing-impaired children during the 2026–2027 school year and updated selection criteria for Montessori education.
