Finnish NHL players Patrik Laine and Eeli Tolvanen remain unsigned

Several Finnish hockey players are navigating the NHL free agency market as the new season approaches.

Teemu Selänne expressed confidence that Patrik Laine still possesses the potential to be an NHL star. Despite a limited season with the Montreal Canadiens due to injury, Selänne suggested Laine could find a role with teams like the Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, or even the Anaheim Ducks if he chooses to continue in North America.

Meanwhile, Eeli Tolvanen remains without a contract after reportedly declining earlier offers in July. Seeking a long-term deal in tax-advantaged U.S. locations, Tolvanen's pursuit of a high-value contract coincided with a cooling market. While interest was previously shown by teams in Dallas and Florida, those opportunities have not yet materialized into a signed agreement.
