Finnish poker star Ilari Sahamies reaches WSOP final table

Finnish professional poker player Ilari Sahamies became the first Finn in two decades to qualify for the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in Las Vegas. The $10,000 buy‑in tournament attracted 9,208 entrants, and the nine finalists played roughly 80 hours over eight days before the final showdown.

The WSOP final table will be broadcast over three days on HBO, highlighting the historic achievement for Finnish poker. The winner of the Main Event will receive $10 million, with the runner‑up and third place slated for $6 million and $3.75 million respectively. Each finalist has already secured at least $1 million in prize money.
