Finnish police report multiple driving under influence incidents

Finnish police have reported several traffic-related incidents involving suspected driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs across various regions.

In Hirvensalmi, a vehicle veered into a ditch. The driver tested at 0.98 mg/l, and the driver of a second vehicle assisting with a tow rope tested at 0.73 mg/l; both are suspected of aggravated driving under the influence. In Mikkeli, a driver was found after leaving a parked vehicle and tested between 0.87 mg/l and 0.92 mg/l.

In Kangasniemi, a driver tested positive for amphetamines during a rapid test and faces suspicion of drug use, driving under the influence, and driving without a valid license.

In Oulu, a cyclist is suspected of endangering traffic safety after colliding with a car on Hiukkavaarankatu. Police noted the cyclist was traveling at high speed without lights in dark, rainy conditions. Additionally, in Sotkamo, a driver crashed into a bridge railing on Pohjanvaarantie and tested above the legal alcohol limit, facing suspicion of driving under the influence.
