Finnish Populist Party Gains in Yle Poll as Left Alliance Declines

Yle’s latest popularity poll shows the Finns Party (Perussuomalaiset) as the biggest gainer, rising to 15.6% support – an increase of 1.1 percentage points and the highest level in almost two years, matching figures last seen in October 2024. The party now ranks third after the Social Democratic Party (SDP) at 23.8% and the National Coalition Party (Kokoomus) at 17.0%.

SDP remains the most popular party with a slight rise, while Kokoomus slipped marginally. The Centre Party (Keskusta) fell to 12.7%, and the Left Alliance (Vasemmistoliitto) experienced the steepest drop, slipping to 10.3% (down 1.1 points). The Greens edged up to 9%, while the Swedish People's Party (RKP) at 3.7% and the Christian Democrats at 3.5% held steady. The poll surveyed 2,100 adult Finns in July–August, with a maximum margin of error of 2.2 percentage points.
