Finnish radio summer hits dominated by domestic music
According to summer statistics released by the copyright organization Gramex, domestic music dominated Finnish radio airplay during the summer and July period. Out of the ten most played songs on both commercial and Yle radio channels, eight were Finnish productions.
The top spot was held by ‘Liekinheitin’ by Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen, which was played 3,791 times. The second most played track was ‘Forever Dream’ by American singer-songwriter Alex Warren, with 2,907 plays.
Other top entries included ‘Voiko enkelitkin eksyä’ by Haloo Helsinki! (2,624 plays), ‘Sisko ja sen veli’ by Ahti (2,609 plays), and ‘Meidän tässä kuuluisi rakastua’ by Elias Kaskinen (2,293 plays). Only two songs in the top ten were international: Alex Warren’s track and ‘New Religion’ by Faithless and Bebe Rexha, which ranked seventh.
