Fintech advancements in Colombia focus on cross-border and conversational banking
Financial technology services in Colombia are expanding through new integrations and conversational banking capabilities. Mambu has announced a strategic alliance with Mastercard to link its Intelligent Core cloud-based banking platform with Mastercard Move. This integration allows Colombian financial institutions to connect digital banking channels to global payment networks without requiring extensive custom code or system replacements.
This technological connection aims to address delays and opaque commissions often faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during international transfers. By utilizing this preconfigured connection, both traditional banks and neobanks may be able to offer immediate cross-border transfers directly through existing mobile applications.
Simultaneously, Grupo Aval’s digital wallet, dale!, is implementing conversational banking via WhatsApp. This update allows users to consult and pay public and private utility bills directly through the messaging app 24/7. The feature leverages existing service registrations and aliases to simplify transactions, moving financial services into the communication tools that users already utilize daily.
