Fintech Athens 5.0 highlights Greek innovation and pharmacy evolution

The Fintech Athens 5.0 conference, centered on the theme “Accelerating Growth,” explored Greece's potential to become a regional hub for financial technology. Speakers, including Professor Dimitris Kainourgos, Demi Gontoufa of National Bank, and Harris Lamproulopoulos of the Hellenic Development Bank, discussed the integration of academic research, technology, and investment capital to drive economic growth and international competitiveness.

Parallel discussions at the PharmaPoint event addressed the transformation of the pharmaceutical sector. Dionysios Evgenidis, President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Thessaloniki, noted that the pharmacy of the future must evolve beyond dispensing prescriptions to become a modern space for health services, prevention, and consultation. The integration of artificial intelligence and digital systems is viewed as a tool to enhance the pharmacist's role in primary healthcare.
