Finteușu Mare Men's Choir celebrates 108 years of activity

The Finteușu Mare Men's Choir will celebrate 108 years of continuous activity through a cultural event titled ‘Culture, Tradition and Continuity in the Romanian Village’. The celebration includes the 17th edition of the ‘Valentin Băințan’ Choral Festival.

The program features a memorial service for past choir members and conductors, alongside an homage to the late Maramureș cultural figure Valentin Băințan. Musical performances will include artists Andreea Ghițiu, Ionuț Uivaroși, and Diana Rednic, supported by the orchestra and ballet of the ‘Transilvania’ National Folklore Ensemble.

In addition to the music, the event will highlight local history, including the 820th anniversary of the documentary attestation of Finteușu Mare and the 200th anniversary of the local stone Orthodox church. The event is organized by the Finteușu Mare Men's Choir Association with support from the Maramureș County Council and the Șomcuta Mare City Hall.
