Fiona Adamson appointed Secretary of Victoria’s Department of Transport and Planning

Fiona Adamson has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). Adamson, who previously served as the Deputy Secretary of Transport Services for the department, will advise the State Government on transport network transformation, integrated transport, planning, and housing portfolios.

Adamson succeeds Jeroen Weimar, who is stepping down from the role. Weimar, a former COVID-19 response commander for Victoria, led the DTP since January 2025. In a message to staff, Weimar expressed pride in the department’s achievements regarding housing policy, road network maintenance, and major infrastructure projects.

Victorian Premier Ben Carroll welcomed the appointment, noting that Adamson’s leadership will be vital for managing the state’s transport network and delivering significant infrastructure and planning reforms.
