Fiona Ferro wins ITF title in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer
Fiona Ferro has secured her tenth professional singles title at the ITF challenger tournament in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer. The victory comes less than two weeks after her first-round elimination in the US Open qualifying rounds.
Competing on her preferred clay courts, Ferro progressed through the tournament by defeating Astrid Cirotte in the first round and overcoming top seed Aurora Zantedeschi in a three-set match. She continued her run by defeating Italian players Diletta Cherubini in the quarterfinals and Francesca Pace in the semifinals.
In an all-French final, Ferro defeated Clara Burel to claim the championship. The win marks a significant rebound for Ferro following her recent performance in the United States.
