Fiona Papajorgji meets with Italian Constitutional Court head and President Mattarella

Fiona Papajorgji, President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, conducted an institutional visit to Rome to meet with Giovanni Amoroso, President of the Constitutional Court of Italy. The discussions focused on the potential formalization of cooperation through a bilateral agreement to establish a structured framework for joint activities, experience exchange, and deepened institutional dialogue.

Following the meeting, Papajorgji and her delegation were received for a special audience by Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale Palace. During the meeting, Papajorgji highlighted the relations between Albania and Italy and noted Italy’s support for Albania’s European integration process.

Additionally, it was noted that President Mattarella has been selected by the World Association of Jurists and the World Law Foundation to receive the ‘Peace and Liberty Award’. The award is scheduled to be presented during the World Law Congress, which will be held in Albania from May 3 to May 5, 2027.
