Fiona Wilson receives national award for policing leadership
Fiona Wilson, the first female police chief of Victoria, has been honored with the 2026 CACP Recognition Award. The award was presented by Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police President Commissioner Thomas Carrique during the association's annual summit in Edmonton.
Wilson was one of two police leaders selected for the national recognition, which highlights exceptional leadership and initiative in advancing Canadian policing priorities. The award acknowledges her long-term contributions to the CACP, including her role as co-chair of its drug advisory committee, where she has worked to influence national policy on complex public safety issues.
In addition to this national honor, Wilson was previously named one of British Columbia’s Women of the Year in May. The recognition celebrates her 30-year career and her work in evolving police responses to crisis-related calls.
