Fiona Winger appointed GM of Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa

Fiona Winger has been appointed General Manager of Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa, returning to her hometown after a 15‑year career leading luxury lodges across New Zealand, Fiji, the Maldives and Australia. Her previous roles include senior positions with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses, Marriott International, Sheraton and Westin, most recently as General Manager of Rosewood Cape Kidnappers in Hawke’s Bay.

Winger said the move is “incredibly meaningful” and highlighted an upcoming refurbishment as an opportunity to enhance the guest experience while celebrating the hotel’s sense of place. Vice President of Operations for Sofitel Pacific, David Fraser, praised her track record in driving commercial success and managing complex ownership environments, stating that she is well‑positioned to lead the hotel into its next chapter.
