Fiorentina accelerates bid for midfielder Kristian Thorstvedt
Fiorentina is moving quickly to sign Norwegian midfielder Kristian Thorstvedt from Sassolo. After positive contacts last week, the club plans a meeting with Sassolo to advance the deal, and Thorstvedt has already indicated his consent to the move.
The Fiorentina board hopes to strengthen the midfield with a physical, dynamic player familiar with Italian football. The clubs are discussing a transfer fee of around €15 million, but Fiorentina is exploring a player‑exchange option to lower the outlay. Potential swap candidates include Sofian Sohm (valued at about €12 million) as well as other youngsters such as Fazzini and Brescianini.
Thorstvedt’s contract with Sassolo runs until 2027 and his salary is roughly €600 k per season, which does not pose a barrier. Meanwhile, Sassolo is also eyeing other targets, notably Partizan forward Ugrésic, who competes with interest from Bologna.
